Bardet Biedl Syndrome Linked to Genetic Cilia Dysfunction
The genetic causes of cilia dysfunction are the subject of research at the University of California. Laurence Moon Bardet Biedl Syndrome, which involves retinitis pigmentosa in addition to kidney problems, obesity and learning difficulties, is one of the human medical conditions that may be caused by cilia dysfunction.
